He's a riding machine
Setho and I went out to the trails today, taking some much needed time away from the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler (Melo).
Ok to be fair, the reason she is being referred to as Hitler is she had us working like dogs cleaning the house all day. Not just straightening up a bit, but that good ol fashioned spring cleaning. The boys cleaned their room, the bathroom, the living room, the baseboards and windowsills. They were tired lil monkeys by the time she let them off the hook. So Setho and I went for a ride.
We have been exploring the old nature trails with the idea of building them out for mountain biking trails. Its a work in progress, but we are having a blast going out and re-discovering the old trails that are out there. This one is of him going by on one of the wider trails out there.
And here's a vid of me riding behind him.

How Well I Remember
Sometimes the smallest things remind me of how great God is, how gracious He has been to my family.
A baby cried out during church this morning. It was one of those cries that lets you know just how mad that little one is.
I dont remember the first time I heard Ella cry like that, but I certainly remember the joy it brought to know she could.
When that baby cried this morning my eyes filled with tears remembering how great He is and all He has brought us through.

Seasons
So today is the last day of Little Dribblers. We aren't sanctioned, so it ends here no matter what. This year we went to a 7 game schedule instead of five. Setho's team has been a struggle to coach, just to be honest. I seem to have less patience with the younger ones than I used to, so I've learned a few things about myself. Not that I'm going into what I've learned, just trust me.
Bryce's team has several boys I've coached before, and its been a little easier for me to relate to them.
The next season is baseball. We have already signed up for machine pitch (Seth) and kid pitch (Bryce). It seems that there are precious few weekends in a year that we aren't in some 'season'. I love coaching the boys and spending time with their friends, but I also cherish those times we are able to be a family, just hanging out at the house on the weekends. All three of them are growing up faster than I could imagine, so together time is truly precious.

Updates... sometimes
A rather cynical friend has been giving me a hard time for not updating my blogs. In his own blog, he suggests it is a healthy thing to get off the computer and do something different. Obviously I do and it makes him uncomfortable. While he spends time dodging work and ignoring his family, I'm productively earning my paycheck and raising my family. Often a person will point out the negatives in themselves by lashing out at others. I firmly believe this is the case. If you care to read his negative comments and general pessimistic attitude, you can torture yourself at justinjinkins.blogspot.com
Anyway, today I'm home with E. She is sick with tonsilitis and has some croup in the ol chest. So today will be filled with Dora and Blue, so by the time Melo and the boys get home I'll likely be in the fetal position on the floor. If you're out and about in Rusk today, bring me some Subway. I wont hold my breath.
